For hardscapes and lighting, yes — the remaining term transfers to the new owner. Just let us know when the home sells so we can update the file with their contact information. Plant warranties (trees, shrubs, perennials) stay with the original purchaser, since survival depends on care after install.

A short, reasonable list: another contractor cutting into the work without checking with us first, physical damage from vehicles or equipment, or skipping basic agreed-upon care like watering a newly planted tree its first season. We don’t use ‘normal wear’ or ‘act of God’ as an excuse to deny a valid claim.

Cosmetic staining from leaves, fruit, or sap on hardscapes is a maintenance issue, not a defect. We don’t warranty lawn areas if we were only hired for hardscape work. De-icing salt damage on pavers that weren’t specified as salt-resistant isn’t covered either — we’ll flag that option at install if you tell us you plan to salt in winter. Everything we do cover is written into your proposal.

We acknowledge every claim within 24 hours and pull your project file. A site visit follows within 5 business days. If the issue is covered, repair work is scheduled within about 2 weeks during install season (April through October), or early the following spring for claims raised over winter.

We’ve operated for 15+ years through multiple economic cycles — same family, same shop, same crew. Every project also comes with a written materials list, so you’d have documentation of every paver, irrigation head, or fixture we installed even in a worst-case scenario. Many manufacturers carry their own product warranties that survive a contractor closing, too.
