No vague scopes — here’s exactly what’s in the proposal before we break ground.
Depends on length, material and complexity — curves, steps or integrated lighting all add scope. Most front-entry walkways land in the $4,000 – $8,000 range. Every quote includes a 5-year workmanship warranty.
Most walkways settle in year three because of base prep — not the pavers on top. We dig deeper, compact properly, and back it in writing.
We dig six inches below grade, lay woven geotextile fabric, then compact aggregate in two-inch lifts. Most installers skip this step, which is why their walks heave and crack by year three. Ours don’t.

We walk your property, mark the proposed route with you, and price the whole job — material, base prep and labor — before a shovel moves. No change orders once we start.

Site clean-up and lawn restoration are part of every job, and the final walkthrough covers care so the walkway still looks right for years.

3-4 feet works for a standard side walk that one person can use comfortably. Go 4-6 feet for a welcoming front entry two people can walk side-by-side. Wider than 6 feet usually just adds cost without adding function — that money is often better spent on material quality or landscape lighting.
Both can last 25+ years with proper base prep. Pavers win on repairability — if one stone shifts or chips years later, we pop it out and replace it in minutes. Poured concrete is a single slab, so any crack stays visible for good. Pavers also handle freeze-thaw better because the joints flex instead of cracking.
Yes — hydronic or electric radiant heat under paver and concrete walks. Common on front entries for families who hate shoveling or need accessible, ice-free footing. Adds roughly $40-60 per square foot on top of the walkway cost, plus a dedicated electric circuit or boiler loop.
May through October. Spring installs mean you enjoy the walk all summer; fall works too, since we can excavate through October and finish before ground freeze. Minnesota’s clay soils make winter excavation impractical.
Yes. We protect the surrounding lawn with plywood boards during construction and restore any impacted areas with seed or sod, included in the project price. Most clients see no lingering damage by the end of the growing season.
